Melanie Jayne Lynskey
Melanie Jayne Lynskey was born on May
16, 1977, in New Zealand. She is known for her distinctive role, with a soft
voice and a strong personality. She is primarily involved in independent films.
Her honors include an New Zealand Film Award. A Hollywood Film Award. Sundance
Special Jury Award. Gotham Award. Golden Nymph Award. Critics Choice Award.
Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Lynskey's first film role was the
teenage murderer in Peter Jackson’s Heavenly Creatures (1994). After moving to
the United States in 1994, Lynskey began a successful career playing supporting
roles in a range of large-budget and smaller-scale productions, including Ever
After (1998) and Detroit Rock City and But I'm a Cherleader (both 1999), Coyote
Ugly (2000), Abandon and Sweet Home Alabama (1902), Shattered Glass (2003) and
Flags of Our Fathers (2006). Lynskey received critical acclaim and a nomination
for the Gotham Award for Breakthrough Performer for her performance in the film
as a divorced woman who is depressed. The Goodbye I Must Be Going (2012) that
proved to be a turning stage for her career. Her subsequent lead roles included
Happy Christmas and We'll Never Have Paris (all 2014), The Intervention (all
2016), Rainbow Time, Little Boxes, I Don't Feel At In This World Anymore (both
2017), Lady of the Manor (2021), Sadie (2018) Sadie (2018) as well as Lady of
the Manor (both 2018) made her an important figure in the American independent
film industry. Lynskey's performance as Rose in CBS' sitcom Two and a Half Men
(1903-2015) brought her recognition. She was the lead in Togetherness from
2015-2016, where she received a nomination from Critics' Choice Television
Awards for the Best Supporting Actress. Megan, and Beatrice on Cartoon
Network's Over the Garden Wall (2014) were the voices. (2016-2018). She also
appeared as Molly Strand on the first season of Hulu's Castle Rock (2018) and
she played Rosemary Thomson in the FX miniseries Mrs. America (2020).
