Lea Katherine Thompson


Thompson was born in Rochester, Minnesota on May 31st, 1961. Thompson is one of five kids of Clifford Barry Thompson and Barbara Barry Thompson. She is the sister of Coleen Goodrich, Shannon Katona and Barry Katona. Her mother is of Irish descent.She began ballet training as a girl and danced professionally at the age of 14 and was awarded scholarship opportunities to San Francisco Ballet, the Pennsylvania Ballet, and the American Ballet Theatre.When she turned 20 young and had started her professional career with American Ballet Theatre's Studio Company (then known as ABT II), the time came to decide if she should join the main company. Mikhail Baryshnikov , at the time, was time the artistic director. He said to her "You are a beautiful dancer, but your body is too bulky." This was her "epiphany" and she said it was the turning point that caused me to stop dancing and quit being an ballet dancer. It was a great moment because I could've been banging my head against the wall for 10 years. "She changed her concentration on acting.Moving to New York at age 20 and appearing in a number of Burger King advertisements in the 1980s, along with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elisabeth Shue as her final co-stars in Back to the Future Part II and Back to the Future Part III.CareerThompson was a home-media screen star who made her debut in 1982, playing Cecily "Sissy" Loper in the interactive live-action video game MysteryDisc: Murder, Anyone? and also her debut film in 1983 with Jaws in 3-D. The film was described by her as "the first movie I've ever watched, but I had lied and said that I'd seen some other films, so when I showed up, I had the basics of. I said I was able to water ski. However, I was not. Then I was given, say five days to study really, really complicated water-skiing techniques, as I was expected to participate in the Sea World water-skiing show. I have no idea how swimming works!" The album was followed by All the Right Moves (1983) Then there was The Red Dawn(84) and as well as The Wild Life (1984).
